This cute groovy disco intro. One thing about LOONA/Jaden Jeong is that they will always have some instrumental-only intro that really transports you to the world of the album
SOTY 2024. It’s literally flawless. The hypnotic synths, technicolor pops in the drums, and the crisp vocals (Haseul I Love you)
Sparkle
Ok I hear some UK garage in the drums. THE CHORUS OMG! That hook is genuinely so catchy. This is the LOONA I love. The bridge to the final chorus is kind of underwhelming but the direction still surprised me in a good way.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
A ballad. I know it’s not just any other ballad out there. I knew it, something is building up in the pre-chorus. Oh that chorus exploded into its own something. It started with the well-known vocal distortions of Jaden Jeong’s production and then a bright drum beat; reminiscent of ODD EYE CIRCLE. The second pre-chorus is so cool with the strings.
Flower Rhythm
I need to know what percussion instruments are what because the percussion in the intro sounds so familiar like a marimba. The chorus is so cute.
Candy Crush
Wait the song being called Candy Crush is so cute considering it samples Plastic Candy by Haseul. The song twists Plastic Candy’s classic city pop sound into something more lively and vivid. The harmonies of the second verse, muah.
Air
Now we’re sampling Air Force One but now it’s got this dance hall twist.
Unf/Air
The instrumentals sound so familiar but I cannot pinpoint the source. It’s so light and bouncy. I’m not going to lie though, the instrumentals could easily pass as Dress to Impress BGM.
Distress
Cute song.
Butterfly Effect
The explosive chorus. The production for this song is genuinely so beautiful.
Birth
The random switch into this dark and moody scene. You can’t help but stand up and applaud the magnificent production.
